Thembi was one of the women who was the backbone of mobilization – she attended meetings, but she seemed to really live for the collective spirit of protest and mass gatherings. It is such sad news of her passing.

Thembi Zungu was born on06 June 1974 in Umlazi Q619 and she passed on the 04 April 2012. Ushiye ngemuva odadewabo ababili, o-Balungile noSbongile kanye nabafowabo abathathu u-Dumisani, Nothi and Lindokuhle.Ushiye ngemuva uyise wezingane zakhe okungu Mlungisi Maphumulo. Amagama ezingane –uKhanyisile,Angeline noNtando. Ngo-2007 wajoyina Abahlali baseMjondolo Movement waphinda waba yilungu lekomidi lomphakathi wase-Mathinini ase-Richmond farm ngaphansi kwabahlali, ngo-2010 wajoyina Abahlali baseMjondolo Women’s League. Uze wasishiya eyilungu labahlali eliphelele.
