Park Gate is what Delft is to Cape Town - a human dumping ground outside the city. Park Gate is 29 kilometers from Durban, a R9 taxi fare. Many of the people moved no longer work or attend school. The first man we met when we entered the settlement, S. Msimango, was moved from a shack in Canaan in Clare Estate, where he had lived and worked since 1991, in 2003. "They moved us from Canaan to Egypt" he said. "Here we just sit. There is nothing here. We have been in a bad position. We don't want the future of others to be in the same position."
