I am writing you, but I am speechless after reading this press release. I am left speechless because I find it hard to believe that this is the South Africa which is described as having one of the most, if not the most progressive consitutions in the world today.
But then, what is the worth of a constitution if there are no provisions to make sure that the law of the land, that justice prevails as a matter of course. Here it is as if if you cannot make your case in court, then forget your case. In other words, this is tantamount to the rule of might is right at all time.
How can this be? How can this be happening?
I am beginning to wonder: could it be that the overthrow of apartheid was going to be followed by something similar, but this time around, under the leadership of a different coalition, but just as committed to the rule of the mightily wealthy against the desperately poor?
Does it mean that the overthrow of apartheid is going to go through 12 or 15 rounds, just like it is done in boxing? And how many years is each round going to take?
Please, stay strong. We shall find a way of delivering a KO to the enemies of the poor so that this battle to put an end to poverty does not go on forever. Take care, jd
