A child walks into his flooded home a day after rain. The concrete floor still has some puddles and is damp. All of the family’s belongings have been put on top of the few large pieces of furniture they own, which sit on bricks barely above the water line.

One day after rain and a puddle still sits in the middle of a family’s home. Because most families can only fit one or two beds in their home, many people sleep on the floor regularly. When rooms get flooded and the floors are wet or damp, people do not sleep, they have to take turns using beds, or they sleep on the cold, wet floors, often becoming sick afterwards.

On a rainy day water easily collects and rises, remaining days afterward and seeping through cracks in the ground, roofs and windows.
