Live Stream of the Award of the Per Anger Prize on Wednesday 21 April at 15:30

On 25 March it was announced that S’bu Zikode will be awarded the 2021 Per Anger prize. Per Anger was a courageous anti-fascist and the prize is awarded by the Swedish government “for humanitarian work and initiatives in the name of democracy”.

The award was greeted with great joy by the movement and there were celebrations in three provinces – and from the streets to land occupations, halls and even a high school. 

The prize will be awarded at the Swedish Embassy in Pretoria at 15:30 on Wednesday 21 April. The ceremony, which will include a speech by S’bu Zikode and a performance by Sisanda Nilsson, will be livestreamed on the Living History Forums Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/levandehistoria/ The ceremony will run till 16:30. It will be followed by reception at the residency of the Swedish Ambassador from 17:30 to 18:30.
