NÃO PARTAM A MINHA CASA
Milhares de pessoas perdem actualmente as suas casas, em Angola, devido a massivos programas de demolições e desalojamentos forçados levados a cabo pelos diferentes governos provinciais sob a protecção da presidência da república e da assembleia nacional.
A OMUNGA iniciou um amplo processo de mobilização nacional e internacional de solidariedade para com as vítimas e de protesto contra estas acções que contrariam o estabelecido na Constituição de Angola e na Resolução 37/09 da Assembleia Nacional de Angola. Tais acções violam também todos os tratados internacionais de direitos humanos incluindo a Observação Geral n.º 7 (1997) adoptada pelo comité dos Direitos Económicos e Sociais das Nações Unidas, sobre a interpretação do parágrafo 1 do artigo 11 do Pacto Internacional dos Direitos Económicos e Sociais, os desalojamentos forçados.
Foi organizada uma marcha de protesto para Benguela, 25 de Março de 2010 que foi abusivamente impedida pelo governo provincial de Benguela, através de ameaças proferidas em comunicado difundido pelas rádios locais e pela presença de centenas de polícias de intervenção rápidas fortemente armados e com unidades caninas.
A onda de solidariedade tem vindo a crescer e a OMUNGA pretende realizar essa marcha, estando a preparar as condições para a divulgação da nova data.

DON’T DESTROY MY HOME
Thousands of people have been loosing their homes in Angola, because of programs of massive demolitions and forced evictions carried out by different provincial governments, under the protection of the State presidency and the Parliament.
The association OMUNGA has started a large national and international mobilization process of solidarity with the victims and protest against those actions that contradict the right to reunion and demonstration as recognized in the Angolan Constitution and Resolution 37/09 of the Angolan Parliament on evictions. Such actions also violate all the international human rights treaties, including General Comment No. 7 (1997) that was adopted by the UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights about forced evictions, as an interpretation of Art. 11.1 of the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights.
A march of protest was organized in Benguela city, on 25 March 2010, but could not happen because of abusive actions by Benguela provincial government, which broadcasted threats through the local radios and sent hundreds of heavily armed fast intervention police force and dog units.
The wave of solidarity has been increasing and OMUNGA does want to organize the march. It currently prepares the necessary conditions before announcing the new date for it to take place.

You can also send a letter to the President of Angola, the Parliament and Provincial Government to demand the end of demolitions and forced evictions, and that they do not prevent the march to take place. The slogan of the march will be “Don’t destroy my home”. (You can send your letters to us by e-mail, we will make sure they reach the addressees).
