Today about a hundred people who were exiled from Kennedy Road after the attack by the ANC in 2009, including the Kennedy 12 and their families as well as the KRDC and their families, returned to the settlement. When they arrived at the Community Hall 16 ANC members were holding a meeting aimed at preventing the visit. But no one from the community attended their meeting. A large number of people joined the returnees as they visited the (former) community centre, AbM offices, Drop in Centre, kitchen and crèche. Everyone visited their (former) homes and told the people there that they are back. The returnees were accompanied by the media including Isolezwe and the makers of Dear Mandela. The visit was peaceful and aside from the 16 ANC members in the hall everyone was welcoming.
