The Memorial Service for Samuel Hloele Will be Held in eMansenseni on 22 June

On 13 June 2017 the Land Invasions Unit murdered Samuel Hloele during an armed eviction in eMasenseni, near Marianhill.

On 29 May 2017 Baby Jayden Khoza died during a police attack in the Foreman Road settlement in Clare Estate.

On 29 September 2014 Thuli Ndlovu was assassinated in KwaNdengezi on the order of two ANC councillors.

On 30 September 2013 Nqobile Nzuza, a teenage girl, was murdered by the police on a road blockade in Clare Estate.

On 26 June 2013 Nkululeko Gwala was assassinated in Cato Crest after then eThekwini Mayor James Nxumalo and ANC regional chairperson Sibongeseni Dhlomo publicly threatened him.

In South Africa in 2017 if you are black and impoverished your life counts for nothing.

Since the murder of Samuel Hloele illegal evictions have continued to be carried out at gunpoint across in Durban. Today comrades in Marianridge and Shallcross came under attack from the Land Invasions Unit.

We will continue to occupy land. We will continue to rebuild after evictions. We will continue to insist on our right to the cities. We will continue to organise and to build our power from below. We will continue to honour our dead and to insist that our human dignity is not negotiable. We will continue to resist all the forces of oppression that vandalise our human dignity.

On 26 June we will march on the Durban City Hall.

The memorial service for Samuel Hloele will be held in the Bhekizwe Hall in Ward 15 from 10am -1pm.
