PUDEMO MOURNS THE PASSING AWAY OF LAND ACTIVIST CDE AYANDA NGILA
Released: 09 March 2022

The People’s United Democratic Movement has received the sad news of the untimely passing and brutal murder of land activists and Abahlali Basemjondolo Movement leader, Comrade Ayanda Ngila. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Abahlali Basemjondolo Movement, his family and the entire Socialist Movement.
Comrade Ayanda was a young committed cadre in the struggle for land, dignity, freedom and socialism. He represented fully the aspirations of the many suffering Africans in the so called independence era. PUDEMO is consoled by the fact that committed activists never die but multiplies. Steve Biko was right when he said “it is better to die for an idea that will live than to live for an idea that will die”. In you we have lost a true soldier but we know that not even death will stop the wheels of the revolution.

You fought a good fight and those thieves who murdered you will one day pay for this deed. Rest in Power Comrade Ayanda!

Forward to socialism!
Away with Capitalism!
