Every door is painted with a number for the municipality to keep track of citizens. The written words “Tin Town” is just one colloquial name for the transit camp.

The main path that cuts up through the transit camp. Mini-bus taxis drive through this path frequently in the morning and afternoon, bringing residents to work and children to school, when they can afford it. The councillor in control of the ward, who owns a taxi business, does not visit the transit camp or his constituents because he has been threatened by a rival taxi business over the taxi routes through the camp.

Some residents jokingly call this structure the crèche, as children congregate in one of the few open spaces of the transit camp.
