Call for Submissions: Poetry about Eviction & Homelessness

Botsotso is coordinating an exhibition on the subject of the RED ANTS, the notorious eviction squads used to clear buildings of “undesirables”.

The photographs are by Kabelo Mofokeng and we invite submission of poems and prose-poems on the subject of housing needs and the debacle of eviction where alternatives are not given to those made homeless.

We cannot guarantee that all poems submitted will be used in the exhibition but a book will also be produced and that may have room for more contributions. The exhibition will kick off at the Women’s Gaol, Constitution Hill complex, Johannesburg early next year.

The deadline for submission is 30 November 2008.
