AbM have not been able to operate freely in the Lacey Road settlement and M’du Hlongwa has been threatened with death by the local shacklord, Jackson Gumede. However Gumede fled the settlement after this fire and AbM was able to mobilise members from across the ward to come and help with the rebuilding.

Update: Gumede returned to the settlement a week or so after the fire and it is again a no go area for Abm.
