WE DEMAND FREEDOM FOR HOPA PRISONERS!

The below text is prepared in order to inform the international public on the events in the process of the so-called Hopa legal case, to pull attention to the scope, meaning and possible results of this process and to contribute to the efforts of solidarity with the imprisoned life defenders.

In Turkey, people who oppose the commercialization of water and who oppose the plundering of nature by enjoying their democratic rights are in prisons for months.

General Strike in Turkey – AbM was represented by Zodwa Nsibande

These photos were taken during the general strike in Turkey for workers and access to housing for all in the city – the municipality is expected to demolished thousands of houses in the different neighbourhoods, so the people were demonstrating against that. The General strike stated 20 years ago by workers in tobacco and this was the second one after 20 years. Zodwa Nsibande was there to represent AbM.

When the poor and the labourer march for a more human and equal world, they always are always confronted with the repression and brutality of the masters of this dark order.

Because our poverty is their richness; because our precarious living conditions mean a secure life for them. Our exploitation is a source of their welfare.

People’s Rights Forum Final Declaration

The people of Turkey has the historical accumulation, ability and possibility to determine her own faith. The history of this land will be written by the labouring sons and daughters of this land coming from different linguistic and national origins.

The basic motto which integrates the will of this land with the universal values of humanity is: “Independence, equality and people’s democracy”.

Peoples, who are not engaged in struggle will have no rights!

The rights of the people is a program of struggle. The historical experience is clear: Today all those rights which are lost one by one, are not achieved as a result of the charities of the rulers, but as a result of the struggles of the peoples of the world. Continue reading →
