Abahlali baseMjondolo to Launch Two Branches in Gauteng this Weekend

This weekend Abahlali baseMjondolo will launch two branches in the province of Gauteng, both in Germiston, Ekurhuleni Municipality. The launch today in Daveyton is today at 10:00 am and the re-launch in Good Hope will be tomorrow at 10:00 am.

Our movement continues to grow under these difficult circumstances. There is a great support for the struggle for land, housing and dignity, and great demand for the movement to expand to other provinces. A struggle that started against exclusion and for dignity in the Kennedy Road settlement in Durban in 2005 has now grown throughout the city of Durban, and is also growing elsewhere in the province and the country. Today the movement has branches in good standing in four provinces that is the Eastern Cape, the Western Cape, Kwazulu-Natal and Gauteng.  Continue reading
